Welcome to the 12th edition of the EMEA Channels Monthly Newsletter.
This month, we’re spotlighting the momentum behind our partner ecosystem—from strategic distributor agreements and AI-driven security innovation to hands-on collaboration with partners across continents. Whether we’re sharing insights from the fairways at Northamber’s Golf Day or tracking cybercriminal movements in Brandefense’s latest report, each story reflects our focus on purposeful growth, trusted alliances, and real-world impact.
As always, we aim to inform, connect, and empower. Let’s dive into the stories shaping EMEA’s cybersecurity landscape.
EMEA Channels travels down under!
It was such a pleasure catching up with the Waterstons Australia and M.Tech Australia teams in Sydney this week. Cyber trends, runZero, CybSafe, Sekoia.io—and of course, some healthy debate over who’s going to take the next British & Irish Lions Test —were all on the table.
Thank you for your time, your insights into the local market, and the laughs we shared. This is what great partnerships look like.
A fantastic day out on the greens at The Warwickshire at the Northamber Golf Day, bringing together partners and friends across the cybersecurity and technology ecosystem.
Lex Moon proudly represented Brandefense alongside Grant Reddin from Northamber – strengthening relationships, building new connections, and enjoying the spirit of collaboration that defines our channel community.
Thank you to the Northamber team for a well-organized and enjoyable day. We value these opportunities to engage, connect, and grow together. Looking forward to many more shared moments both on and off the course.
Liza Weschta had the pleasure of meeting with Martin Britz from Growth Hub Limited and Patrick Assheton-Smith from Symbiosys IT. The discussion focused on aligning strategies and identifying new opportunities for collaboration in the region.
It's always valuable to connect with partners who are passionate about driving impact and innovation. Looking forward to what lies ahead as we shape the next phase of our joint efforts.

99% of enterprise users have browser extensions.
But most security teams still aren’t watching what those extensions are doing.
In this new Dark Reading feature, LayerX Security CEO Or Eshed breaks down what they uncovered in their latest browser extension risk research, and why this blind spot is now one of the most exploited threat surfaces in the enterprise.
Here’s what they are seeing across enterprise environments:
🔸 53% of those have 𝘩𝘪𝘨𝘩 or 𝘤𝘳𝘪𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢𝘭 permissions
🔸 54% were published anonymously
🔸 58% of GenAI extensions also fall into the high/critical risk category
As Or puts it:
“𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗳𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗯𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀𝗲𝗿 𝗲𝘅𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗶𝘀, 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗹, 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗲.”

New Threat Actor Uncovered: ViciousTrap
Sekoia.io’s Threat Detection & Research team has identified a new actor, ViciousTrap, who has compromised over 5,500 edge devices — turning them into a global honeypot-like network.
Key takeaways:
- Over 50 device brands are being monitored, including SOHO routers, VPNs, and NAS.
- Attackers are exploiting CVE-2023-20118 to deploy a redirection tool dubbed NetGhost, enabling Man-in-the-Middle attacks.
- Infrastructure traces point to a Chinese-speaking actor, leveraging Malaysian hosting services.
- Victims are primarily in Asia, with targeted campaigns extending to Europe and the U.S.
Sekoia.io’s analysis reveals a sophisticated setup focused on intercepting real-world exploitation attempts — likely to harvest or observe zero-days in action.

115 new vulnerabilities. Every. Single. Day.
And they don't respect org charts. Vulnerabilities touch IT, dev, legal, compliance, ops, and other departments. They flow through teams, risk models, SLAs, and customer commitments.
A robust program needs to be life cycle-driven and cross-functional.
Vicarius latest breakdown (GIF + doc in comments) walks through the 6 key components of a modern, lifecycle-driven VM program.
